Maria Monroy
Maria Monroy is a Chilean artist living in London, with a passion for songwriting and composing. Following the release of her singles including “Feathers”, “How To” and “Draw A Close”, she released her debut album in November 2025.
The album was celebrated with an album launch gig at The Finsbury. She is set to release a music video for one of the album songs, "Getaway", on January 16 2026.
Her indie pop sound pulls from nostalgic influences such as The Strokes, The Las and The Cardigans, and is further inspired by female singer-songwriters such as Julia Jacklin, Alice Phoebe Lou and Clairo. In this debut album “How To”, Maria Monroy explores the emotional imprints of different kinds of relationships in life, be they long-term, contextual or merely a fleeting interaction. The album traverses moods of reflection, curiosity, healing and dawning.
"How To" was recorded in Abbey Road, Angel Studios, and Pony Studios in London, and was produced by Cuco Errazuriz.

Press reviews from previous release ‘Feathers’ and ‘Birdsong’
“Contrary to what its title might suggest, ‘Feathers’ is not a track to be taken lightly. It is rather a rich, harmonious modern ballad that shows off the experience and creativity of Chilean London-based songwriter, Maria Monroy. Recorded in London, Monroy worked with producer Cuco Errazuriz to assemble a debut song that expertly waltzes through the genres of Indie, folk and classical music. ‘Feathers’ is a thing of beauty – it is hard not to be infatuated with Monroy’s sound. ”- IAMUR
“First, instrumentally. The string part gave me chills. Secondly, the voice is incredibly sweet and evocative, perfectly tuned and combined with the melody”-Laura Meets Musicians (Instagram)
“Following up on last year’s debut ‘Feathers’, the London-based songstress pens a track that feels soothing yet intense, evocative yet soft and fragile. Built on alt-folk and pop stylings, ‘Birdsong’ champions organic arrangements with blissful instrumentation and controlled euphoria; Monroy’s vocals are immensely controlled, yet hard-hitting and relevant.” Gabriel Mazza, Mesmerized
